Mark Whaley

The Moody County Sheriff’s Office is where Dave Biteler’s interest in law enforcement first began. His father, Darrell, served there as a deputy, and that early exposure helped shape Dave’s lifelong commitment to public service.

Dave began his career as a Reserve Officer with the Brookings Police Department before being hired as a Patrol Officer and eventually promoting to Patrol Sergeant.

He later joined the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, where he has served through nearly every level of the organization — working in corrections, court security, patrol, as Jail Administrator, and now as Assistant Sheriff.

Dave knows the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center better than anyone else running for Sheriff. His experience, leadership, and dedication to Brookings County are unmatched.

I have known Dave for many years, both personally and professionally. He has my full support and my vote for Brookings County Sheriff, and I respectfully ask for your vote as well.
